About Customizabooks

At Customizabooks, we have developed a digital platform for children's books. Using our Customizabooks Engine, we work with publishers and authors to create digital interactive versions of their books. Many of our books have an unprecedented level of involvement in the storytelling process. We believe this not only makes for better books, but can also help produce better readers as well.

The Team

Customizabooks' team comes from the video games and haptics industries. Its founders are executives with over 25 years combined experience in developing innovative technologies and video games.

Tom Anderson, Founder

Tom has been working in the technology, entertainment and video game industries for over 15 years. He was the founder and CEO of Novint technologies, the world’s leading video game company in the field of 3D touch, from 2000-2011. Prior to starting Novint, Tom led the development of some of the first 3D haptic (touch) applications in the world at Sandia National Laboratories beginning in 1996. In 2000 he founded Novint, assembling a world class team. Tom licensed over five years of Sandia’s groundbreaking research and oversaw Novint’s $34 million dollar fundraising which was utilized in the video game industry in areas such as strategic partnerships and business development, building a significant portfolio of intellectual property and patents, manufacturing the world’s first consumer 3D touch device (the Novint Falcon), and positioning the company to successfully enter the consumer market.  He took Novint public and led two corporate mergers.  Tom also closed on source code licensing agreements with companies like Electronic Arts and Valve Software, and haptic development contracts with companies like Lockheed Martin, Sandia National Laboratories, Aramco, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, Chrysler, and a number of Universities.  Tom has a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico, Magna Cum Laude, and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, where he studied computer interface technology and business management.
